Child Advocacy and Support

We support children and youth between the ages of 2-22 years to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults, able to interact with others in a healthy manner, choose healthy habits and become economically self-supporting. To achieve this, we partner with other organizations as well as donors and well-wishers to get funding and other needed resources.

Children are recruited into the program at the age of 2-4 years and nurtured holistically up to the age of 22 years when they are exited from the program. The children reside with their respective parents/caregivers in their homes and attend age-graded holistic child development curriculum once a week during school sessions and five days a week during school holidays. Main Curricula resource materials used were designed by Compassion Kenya and include;

  • Age-graded Holistic Child Development Curriculum

  • Youth Development Curriculum

  • Skills Development Curriculum

  • Child Protection Curriculum

  • Caregivers’ Child protection curriculum

Other resource materials used are sourced from the internet and other relevant media.

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

Each area of holistic development has one outcome and three associated indicators providing goals to strive for in child and youth development. Measuring progress towards outcome attainment in age appropriate and contextual ways helps to understand whether the beneficiary is being positioned for release from poverty. Our ultimate desire is for beneficiaries to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. Our program seeks to impact four major development areas in the lives of the child and youth beneficiaries in our program. They include

  • Spiritual development

  • Cognitive development

  • Physical development

  • Socio-emotional development

Each domain has specific outcomes as indicated below,

Spiritual development outcome: Demonstrates commitment to the lordship of Christ

Cognitive development outcome: Exhibits the motivation and skills to be economically self-supporting

Physical development: Chooses good health practices and is physically healthy

Socio-emotional development: Interacts with other people in a healthy and compassionate manner

                                         Our main objectives

  1.  To reach all registered beneficiaries with the gospel and give them an opportunity to be born again by the time they attain the age of 22years
  2.  To equip all beneficiaries with required skills and knowledge to become economically self supporting and able to relate with others in a healthy and meaningful way.
  3.  To train all beneficiaries and their caregivers on physical health and facilitate medical attention for all beneficiaries and select caregivers in time.
